Juggling Balls & Life

Did you ever want to run away and join the circus as a kid?

My sisters and I did... not necessarily the running away part, but the circus part, we thought that would be the coolest thing.

My little sister was the biggest advocate of the plan - she wanted to learn how to ride a unicycle!

One Christmas morning Santa was looking out for us, and we got our start up circus kit. There were…

• Diabolos

• Spinning plates

• Juggling batons and balls

And right at the bottom of her bed... a Unicycle.

We had what we needed to create a travelling sisters circus!

Best skill of all - Learning to Juggle... I'll reveal why in a minute.

Juggling re entered my life around 3 years ago when I started training with a brand called Real Movement.

Just the other day I noticed my balls collecting dust on the shelf. They were starring me down…challenging me to see if I could still juggle 4 of them.

It took about 10 mins to get back into the swing of things but I got there!

Then it hit me... the physical practice of juggling balls correlates with juggling life in general…

Just like a skilled juggler, we all have to keep multiple balls in the air at once.

From work and family obligations to personal pursuits and health goals, it can be a delicate balancing act.

Practice Makes Progress

Juggling requires practice and persistence.

It takes time to learn the necessary skills and coordination, and even more time to master them. Similarly, success in life often requires consistent effort and a willingness to push through obstacles and failures.

Focus Focus Focus

Juggling isn't just a physical activity, it's also a mental one.

When you're juggling, you've got to be laser-focused on the task at hand, or else you'll drop those balls faster than a hot potato.

This level of focus is essential for success not just in juggling, but also in life. Whether you're working on a big project at work or trying to achieve a personal goal, staying focused is key.

Think of it as concentration practice

The Art of Creativity

Juggling isn't just about tossing balls in the air - it's an art form!

You start to develop unique and innovative routines and styles that bring out your creativity and individuality.

You don't have to be a professional juggler to bring creativity into your own life.

Try exploring new hobbies, pursuing your passions, or finding creative solutions to life's challenges.

The Hand-Eye Coordination Connection

Juggling isn't just a cool party trick - it can also improve your hand-eye coordination.

By throwing and catching those balls, you're strengthening the connection between your brain and your body, which can enhance your overall motor skills.

And who knows? Maybe improving your juggling skills will help you type faster or play a musical instrument more efficiently.

Juggle Your Way to a Better Brain

Believe it or not, juggling can actually make you smarter!

By stimulating different areas of the brain, juggling can promote neural plasticity, which can improve your brain function and cognitive abilities.

So, the next time you're feeling a little forgetful or indecisive, pick up some balls and give your brain a workout!

Stress Less

Life can be stressful, and juggling can be a great way to unwind and reduce anxiety.

With its rhythmic movement and meditative quality, it can help calm your mind and provide a sense of relaxation and solace.

So, the next time you're feeling stressed, forget about meditating - try juggling instead!

Boost your Confidence and Self-Esteem

Juggling is a challenging activity that requires practice, patience, and determination.

But as you improve your juggling skills, you'll also improve your confidence and self-esteem.

That sense of accomplishment you feel when you finally nail that 3 balls, 4 balls or even 5 balls?

That feeling can translate to other areas of your life and help you feel more capable and empowered.

So go ahead and give juggling a try - you might just surprise yourself!

Whether you're looking to reduce stress and anxiety, boost your confidence, or simply try something new, my advice...

Grab some balls and learn to juggle.
