Mastering the Art of Patience
The Magic of 100 Days
Patience has never been a strength of mine, more importantly patience with time.
The time it takes to get fit
The time it takes to learn a new skill
The time it takes to get a project off the ground
If I could narrow down the one thing I have focused on over the last year that has drastically changed my life...
Practicing Patience.
I would always fall into the trap of thinking
I've done 2 weeks in the gym, why don't I have my dream body yet?!
I've posted a really cool IG reel [having been absent from the platform for weeks] why didn't hundreds of people like it yet?!
Because of this I could never quite get my head around the time it actually takes to 'complete' things.
So when it came to goal setting, you can imagine how well that went.
I would have these grand ideas
Throw on a 3-6 month time frame (because I honestly couldn't think past that)
Then quit and get upset when I had not reached my goals...
I started to believe those around me who said I was never going to make it.
They Were Right
Unfortunately at this point, I had to realise they were right! With that mindset I was never going to make it anywhere.
I had a new mission now. My soul focus was on this question.
How do I learn to start thinking over longer time frames?
I wanted to know how to truly
"Plan in decades,
Think in years,
Work in months,
Live in days."
I figured if I could crack this, then no goal would ever be too big again.
Remember from The Wisdom of 10 Ancient Scrolls - The Scroll Marked 3

It’s Taken 3 Years
Now to put this into a bit of perspective for you, it's taken 3 years from having this insight to embodying it fully in my life. And even now I still fall back into my old impatient ways.
So don't get frustrated if your mindset doesn't shift overnight.
Don't get me wrong it can - it really is that simple
But I have found that going down this rabbit hole of thought process will open up a whole can of worms.
Think about it…
If you can truly get your head around the fact that you can achieve any goal you set out to achieve, so long as you have the patience and persistence to go after it.
With a focused intent and consistent work nothing is impossible.
So why is that project you have ALWAYS WANTED TO DO sat gathering dust in a notebook somewhere?
Why have you not started those dance classes you said you wanted to?
How come that side hobby you thought you could turn into a business is now almost not even a hobby anymore because work is too busy?
So what if it takes you 5-10 years to get it off the ground, or get any good at a new skill?
The time is going to pass any way…
Wouldn't it be cool to have something to show for it?
Learning to become Patient
For me it all came down to a simple daily writing habit.
I’ve tried journalling before but it always seemed to fizzle out, has that happened to you?
This time the only difference was I set a goal and decided it was nonnegotiable!
100 Days of Consistency
The physical act of writing daily (3 pages of brain dumping) for 100 days minimum, that was it.
A few things that have stuck out during the process:
• Building a New Good Habit
This replaced mindless scrolling and mental chaos first thing in the morning.
• Staying Consistent
This was the first time I could remember ever sticking to my word for 100 consecutive days!
[How insane is that... I thought I was going to build a large successful business and I couldn't even sit and do one small task for 100 days in a row.]
• Discipline
Filling 3 pages regardless of how I was feeling and getting it done.
• Patterns Emerged
I started to notice patterns in my worries and excuses - Seeing them appear repeatedly on the page started to give them less power.
These thoughts started to arise:
2 weeks from today I will be sitting and writing my morning pages again... (I had proven to myself I was going to continue by this point)
Will I still be
• In the same place?
• Worrying over the same issues?
• Complaining about the same things?
My answer "I don't want to be, No."
So what do I have to do now to make that change?
• New Ideas
For Everything! Content ideas started to come 'out of nowhere'. I could feel my creativity returning.
But the biggest one of all…
I could SEE myself writing at the top of the page
Day 231
Day 365
Day 852
I could SEE how even just this small daily habit was adding up, as the pages are written and the notebooks keep filling up.
I could SEE the Law of Impermanence at work as every new day was coming.
Life goes on and the sun will rise and fall again tomorrow regardless of whether you decide to take part or not.

If you're like me and have been struggling with your mindset around setting large goals .
I highly recommend you try a daily writing habit.
Get yourself a dedicated notebook for this, A5 I find is best as its not too large and not too small...It's JUST RIGHT! - Couldn't help myself with that one.
Now, you don't need to do it the way I've done it, there are many journalling styles depending on if you have 10mins, 30 mins or an hour to spare.
Here are a few examples:

Develop the daily habit of consistency
Don't let the next 100 days slip by before you take action.

P.S
... If you just said you'll start tomorrow that's fine, give yourself 24 hours to get a new notebook but don't let it go past 24 hours, and if you have a spare notebook lying around get to it after reading this.
I've had countless moments where I get all fired up to start something new knowing this time I will STICK TO IT!
And 3 days in I've already skipped a day.
So how about this...
If you're really serious about starting this new habit, reply within 24 hours or shoot me a DM.
I will start a 100 day telegram group accountability from Monday 13th March.
All you have to do is throw in a done - or check mark emoji.
I will be doing it along with you.
