It's easy to forget what's most important in life.

"I'm not going to lie, it doesn't look good."

I sat with my mum in the consulting room.

The surgeon stared across the table with the MRI's up in front of us.

... it doesn't look good was bad news, but also a relief.

I cried.

I was a month away from my 30th birthday and I had spent the last 5 years in excruciating pain with a slipped disc in my lower back pressing on both sciatic nerves.

The surgeon said if we didn't operate the chances of the bones auto-fusing was high which could lead to permanent nerve damage and a more painful surgery procedure.

I was booked in for surgery within 18 days.

I was afraid! But this injury was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Why?

Because it's easy to forget whats most important in life, and how finite and fragile it is.

I had also at the time just quit my career in a social media marketing agency to build my one person business, so branching out alone during this time was scary.

The truth is, nothing is scarier than looking back with regret. That you wasted the majority of your life building someone else's dream at the cost of your own. Knowing that you never reached your full potential.

This is where the internet is changing the game.

The 'Creator Economy' is in full force and with the work from home movement over the last 2 years the world of work as we know it is changing.

The most powerful tool I have found is that you can get paid to write online about what you love.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that. - pause for dramatic effect -

The best part? You don't even need to be an expert to have something worth saying.

As long as you can be patient, curious and persistent you will succeed.

This is where you and I come together. I want to help you write your way to freedom.

Freedom to me means being able to live on your terms.

To be able to do what you want, with who you want. To enjoy a career thats full of meaning and to create work around a skill you love.

In the online space now you are rewarded for taking part - For being a Creator!

It's not the easiest of rollercoasters, but I know for a fact it's worth every second.

So if you have been toying with the idea of starting a one person business or just writing online - Hit Publish.

Feel the fear and do it anyway! Start the journey and see where it takes you.

Creating content out of 'nothing' is what I love to do, so if you want to talk through where you're at, book in for a 30 min chat with me here.

Let's see if we can gain some clarity on your situation or even just to say hi and connect.

I will leave you with these two thoughts.
