Take the fear out of decision making

5 Things to think about next time 'The Fear' creeps in

It’s easy to get stuck in a loop of planning to plan, waiting for the perfect moment or just hoping that eventually the fear of moving a project forward will eventually disappear because you will suddenly feel ‘ready’.

I don’t think it ever actually gets easier, you just get better at dealing with it.

Here are 5 things to think about next time 'The Fear' creeps in:

1. Most of your decisions can be re-made

You can always ‘Start Again’, and you can always ‘Change Your Mind’

However delaying action on creating that offer - or building that product will not bring you closer to completion.

2. Oftentimes making the wrong decision actually gives you the clarity you lacked to figure yourself out

More often than not in the process of creating something we learn where the gaps in our knowledge are.

You can see the next steps unfold as you start to discover what it actually takes to move the project forward.

3. Why aren’t you more afraid of making no decision than making a decision - ultimately THAT will be the disaster - you slowly slide down the slope of mediocrity.

If you have a project in mind, it won’t be going away any time soon.

The longer you actually wait to get it started the more psychic entropy you will experience and your everyday life will start to get effected.

4. Making choices will expose you to massive experience - which you can learn and grow from.

Always air on the side of action, proactivity and massive experience.

Even if it doesn’t ‘work’ the first time, the experience you will have gained in order to start will transfer into the next iteration of your work.

5. Always choose the situation that will challenge you

If you aren’t being challenged you aren’t growing.

Just like building muscle in the body you have to systematically introduce load in order for the muscles to adapt.

Start slow - and add tasks once you have found your flow.

Challenge yourself to learn the skills you need in order to bring your idea to fruition.

One more time - The world isn’t going to end if you decide to take a chance on yourself.
